I got thick laser cut at the first time! Yeah! And finish the box. Saw is too powerful and so scary…

Solutions…

I can Crochet, but that will be more simple design similar what I have now

However I make two other crazy patter one.

All weaving I have tried..

Rainbow stream comes with the small loom when I bought it.

So I weave it for a little scarf, at that time it worked quite well.

It only take me few hour to finish it.

After I bought stream similar with Ramie,

But my last weaving didn’t work up that well

I like the pattern but the scale of weaving is a little small.

 

 

 

Design

I have done this for midterm presentation

 

But I don’t think I can really show it on my weaving.

large loom looks really scary.

But somehow small loom doesn’t work either now…

 

 

Tribe culture

Tribe culture in Taiwan is my inspiration of this project.

 

This is one of their curtain. There is some prohibit symbol on it but there is different meaning to them. It means two cross thunder. There is their folk story about thunder god’s daughter who came to the Earth and taught them agriculture. In order to remember her, they put the symbol on weaving…

I want to rearrange them using modern technique and from the design I learn…

I also think it will be fun to combine textile and leathers, metal + graphic design

will be fun to play.

Maybe it will be fun to weave a cooper wire as well.

Weaving typography

Since I am graphic designer and I am currently interested in weaving.

I would love to continuously  bring typography in weaving.

I have done a performance art about we dye strings and weave them back to frame so the letter will show

gradually .
